When I was a new Christian, years ago, I read "Open Heart, Open Home" and that book helped that young Christian Wife and Mother set a course for her life to entertain with Grace and to see the visitor, not my pile of laundry.
Thank you.
Didn't you write to the tune of "The Son of God Goes Forth To War" a song about
"The Vision of a dying World lies vast before our eyes..." I'm looking for the words to that Missionary Message in Song.
Where may I get it?

I have nearly two decades on you. I feel the way you do about enthusiasm for life and learnng. I seldom slow down, try to not sleep more than five hours a night. Never have a down moment. Too many beautiful things going on. I know of the many sad thing happening but cannot bring myself to dwell on anything that I cannot fix. Fatalistic, perhaps, but reality is reality. One cannot save all the star fish. I am consdidered by some to be a life coach, but I see my self as someone that just cares. oh well, |

I love the "Tales of The Kingdom" I read it to my third grade class and am reading it to my grandson now. What a beautiful allegory about the battle between God and satan and all us humans in the middle! thanks |

i am 2/3 of the way through ''open heart, open home'' after seeing a reference to it in jan silvious' ''5 min.devotional'' - i've been essentially house/bed-bound for over a year due to CFIDS, yet this book speaks so strongly to me about my attitude toward hospitality to others. both of my children are married and committed Christians, and i look forward to sharing your book with them....they are already practicing the principles, but i think they will gain much insight from your book...i look forward to reading ''the fragile curtain'' next, which i just learned about. may God continue to bless you and your family. |

Hi Karen,
I started to put together a library at our church, and your book 'open home, open heart' the older version was donated by someone. I started to glance through it and was amazed at the gems of wisdom in there! Thanks for writing that book, I am going to buy that one if I can still find it online somewhere, and the newer version too. Thanks for writing a guidebook on Christian hospitality, and having 'hospitatily before pride'. Your book really opened my eyes to some of the things I had been saying I was doing for others ( having my house 'white-glove' clean) really was pride and trying to run from any shame of having a less-than-perfect house. Now, I see it is better to just have people over and have fun enjoying others company and not worrying so much about the house. so thanks! All the best, Jessa. |

I read "Open heart, Open Home" 25 years ago, just before my husband and I began pastoring in Canada. Now I pulled it off the bookshelf to do a teaching on Biblical Hospitality, decided to google your name.
Glad to see you have more books I can read, you truly are gifted! |

So glad to have found you online. Just reading "Lonely No More" and am delighted to have found you when I googled your name. Blessings to you - you have blessed so many by sharing your journey with us all. |
